Timeline of Accountability Process – March 2025 – April 2026

The purpose of this document is to preserve a factual record of events for public knowledge and clarity.
Consistent with other accounts on this website, I have intentionally avoided publishing real names of third parties. Many people reading this will recognize who is being referenced, and can independently verify accounts by speaking with those involved. I encourage readers to do so.
Jim had a separate direct correspondence with Dave during this time period that is omitted from this record but included in Jim’s update **LINK NEEDED**. During that time period, Jim acted as an individual seeking resolution with Dave, not as a representative of our accountability team.
Timeline
March 17, 2025
Final conversation with Dave (Ryan was also there), during which I told Dave I believed his marriage prophecy for me and Grace was not from God, and that we were leaving Friday Night. I noted that people were going to want to know why we left Friday Night and that I was going to tell them, and that I would not censor anything to protect anyone’s reputation. I made it clear I would neither soften nor exaggerate the story, but tell it plainly. Neither Dave nor Ryan objected to my characterization of the prophecy as belonging to Dave, or to my stated intent to tell my story.
The conversation was cordial, and I left thinking Dave made a horrible error in his spiritual discernment, but that he was well-intentioned.

March 18, 2025
After looking up the email record on the Coin of the Realm prophecy, I confronted Dave over text for his misleading omission during the previous night’s meeting that lent false credibility to his prophecy. His response avoided the substance of my concern. For additional documentation, see my testimony (search for the word “Zimbabwe”).
March 19, 2025
Final conversation with Kathy. One-on-one.
Dave texted me saying Kathy was stuck in traffic and running late. This was the last communication I would receive from Dave until August 14.
I opened the conversation by telling Kathy it was a big deal that Grace and I were leaving Friday Night, and that I felt she should have a chance to ask any questions. We spoke for a while on a variety of topics, and it was mostly a good conversation.
She wanted to know where I saw Dave being deceptive, noting that one lie does not make a person a liar. I asked her how many times she had lied to someone in a ministry context. She indicated she had not.
I explained where I perceived deception and also told her I had documented evidence. She indicated it was significant if things were documented and asked me to send it to her, which I did the following day via email.
Kathy did not respond.
March 20 - August 13, 2025
I reconnected with Jessica G
We formed a team to hold Dave accountable
We gathered testimonies and prepared a Call to Repentance letter
We built the website, in anticipation that Dave would not receive private correction
August 14, 2025
Call to Repentance letter hand-delivered to Dave and sent via email. Available here. Response deadline set to August 21.
The eight-page letter:
Included 3.5 pages of allegations in bullet point form against Dave from seven witnesses. As of now, two of those witnesses have not chosen to share their stories publicly.
Asked Dave to confess guilt or make a case for his innocence with regard to each allegation.
Contained a number of stipulations designed to prevent Dave from skating by on technicalities, playing the victim, minimizing his offenses, or using other manipulative means to evade accountability.
Within an hour of receiving the letter, Dave notified us of upcoming trips.
We provided a five-day extension to August 26.
August 25, 2025
Suli reminded Dave via text that he only had one day left to respond.
Dave notified us that he had just returned from a funeral in California, and asked us to abandon our deadline.
Deadline extended one day, to August 27.
August 27, 2025
Dave did not respond.
August 28, 2025
Website published around 8AM.
Dave emailed us around 5PM, requesting the website be taken down for the sake of the reputation of Christ and His church.
His email accused me specifically of:
Libel
Having hatred and darkness in my heart
Malice
Additionally:
He framed the website as being directed at him and Kathy.
He declared us disqualified from being involved in their correction.
He explained how he had already planned to present the charges leveled against him to other people.
Dave never followed up with us in any way to explain what specifically was libelous.

August 30, 2025
We declined to take down the website.
We let Dave know that he still had an option to provide a written response, and that doing so would be a good first step toward a long-term resolution that could include the website being taken down.
September 2, 2025
Cottrell Chronicles released, claiming:
He and Kathy are under “spiritual attack”
The website is slander / misinformation / innuendo
Satan is “delighting in the discord and division [the website] is creating in the church.”
September 11, 2025
CRU placed Dave on administrative leave.
September 12, 2025
According to one witness:
At Friday Night, some amount of discussion regarding the allegations on the website occurred.
It was announced that Dave would respond directly to the allegations the following week and that anyone could attend, but that Dave should be able to address it uninterrupted and without people “attacking” him.
Dave did not reach out to any of the witnesses on the website to invite them.
Nonetheless, most/all of the witnesses heard through the grapevine.
September 19, 2025
Dave defended himself in front of Friday Night in monologue form. Transcript here, audio here. ***LINKS NEEDED***
Jim and Rebecca attended via Zoom. No one else with testimonies on the website attended.
The monologue was prefaced as follows:
Dave will be giving his response in full without interruption.
Afterwards, we will adjourn in prayer, and break for the night.
All are invited to discuss with him after the statement in person-to-person conversation.
Several people in the audience recorded Dave’s monologue in its entirety, which was then sent to us.
The monologue:
Was severely lacking in detail
Often avoided addressing the most serious critiques (for example, when discussing Jim’s testimony, Dave did not respond to the Scriptural critique based on 2 Cor 9 or explain why it was okay for him to accept a large sum of money as a direct result of prophecy).
Included lengthy tangents that didn’t directly address the allegations
Contained factual inaccuracies
Contradicted previous statements Dave was documented saying
Third Party Attempts to Arrange a Meeting
From late September to early October, a long-time associate of Dave attempted to broker a meeting between the four people who were present on 5/15/23 (Dave, me, William, and Ryan), to settle the record of what happened that night. He felt that this was the right next step from a biblical standpoint. From what I could gather from the associate, Dave was mostly unwilling to meet, but at one point changed his mind and agreed to it.
There were many reasons I declined to meet. The main reason was that in the past Dave had already denied giving the prophecy and then subsequently admitted it multiple times. As he was now simply returning to denial, there was no reason to believe he would approach a discussion in good faith. I also asked the third party to serve as a moderator, and he refused, saying he felt strongly that it should only be the four of us meeting. This seemed problematic to me, as the other two men were still sitting under Dave’s authority.
October 17, 2025
Final Friday Night meeting. Precise reason for disbanding the group is unknown.
November 7, 2025
Cottrell Chronicles released:
Stated they are no longer with CRU. Unclear whether their departure was voluntary.
Sabbatical announced
Stated that some have come to Dave and Kathy showing areas where “[they] still need to grow.”
Indicated they are not stepping down from ministry (“We know this is not the end of our work for His kingdom!”)
Donors were asked to pray about whether they should continue their giving.
Questions solicited.
We are not aware of any statement Dave has offered to his donor network regarding the allegations, except for the 9/2/25 Cottrell Chronicles which labeled the website misinformation but provided no explanation or detail. As Dave’s 9/19/25 address of Friday Night was a prepared statement that he read from his laptop, we are unsure why he would not simply send it out with the Cottrell Chronicles to his support network.
September 26, 2025 through January 10, 2026
Jim seeks resolution with Dave.

January 24, 2026
We email Dave:
Reiterate his option to respond in writing
Notify him of our intent to publish his 9/19/25 comments
Offer him the opportunity to provide more detail, corroborating witness testimony, and/or documented evidence
As of the publication of this timeline, Dave has not responded to this email.
February 1-4, 2026 (exact date unknown)
Dave and Kathy’s CRU page is removed.
February, 2026 (date redacted as I don’t want my exact birthday on the internet)
Dave sends me a happy birthday text.
I respond the next day, reiterating the group’s willingness to engage with him on the substance of the charges.
False Rumors
I include this section not to amplify gossip, but to bring to light the narratives that circulated privately and potentially influenced how my concerns as well as the website in general were perceived.
At various times between March 2025 and now, a number of false rumors got back to me. They included the following:
That I was a sex addict
That I was a controlling husband who was preventing Grace from having contact with Friday Night people
That Grace might be on Dave’s side / doesn’t agree with me / still believes the prophecy / etc.
Despite the extensive speculation and rumor surrounding this idea, very few people reached out to Grace to simply ask her perspective.
According to Grace, she was and still is annoyed and upset that very few people reached out to her to set the record straight.
That I was falling away from the faith
That I was socially isolated after leaving Friday Night
That I only declined to postpone my wedding for financial reasons.
It is true that I was partly motivated to have the wedding before the end of the year so that we could save money on taxes.
It is also true that I did not believe I had a legitimate choice to not get married. Postponing felt like being unwilling to step out in faith, as well as simply delaying the inevitable.
That I lied in my testimony. I was informed that a certain man close to Dave had made this accusation about me. Prior to my being informed, that man had previously contacted me and asked about a few items from my testimony that he was present for but did not remember. I assured him that those events did in fact happen, and that I had documented evidence to prove it, which I offered to provide. He seemed to believe me, and did not request to see the evidence.

February 2026 Text Exchange
